S/2003 J2

about

Patron Todd Steed gave us these details: Key of B-flat, contains an F minor and a Cmajor7, and is sung from the point of view of one of the moons of Jupiter.

We picked moon S/2003 J2. It's a a retrograde irregular satellite of Jupiter discovered by a team of astronomers from the University of Hawaii and announced on March 4, 2003. As of 2018, it was Jupiter's outermost known moon. S/2003 J2 has not been seen since its discovery in 2003 and is currently considered lost.

Quartjar sympathizes with the notion of being an irregular satellite that doesn't always get seen.

lyrics

Pardon me while I wax lyrical
Small miracle, I'm non-spherical
I'm just the 63rd satellite
That might just be all right
Out here on the fifth ring
Ain't no thing, I gotta sing

S/2003 J2
Let me spell it right out for you
S/2003 J2
(repeat)

I'm small on the cosmic scale
My best friend, though, he's a whale
Do not want what he ain't got
What he's got is a great red spot
Out here, we're the biggest gang
Mostly we just ... hang

S/2003 J2
Let me spell it right out for you
S/2003 J2
(repeat)

Europa, Io, Ganymede, Callisto
I went unnoticed by old Galileo
Little old me, number 63
Let me show you my ID

S/2003 J2
Let me spell it right out for you
S/2003 J2
(repeat)
